curious, what would happen if you didnt use any lube on the arp head bolts???

But that wasn't enough for the arp bolts, they had a lot more material on the threads. Thought I was done and tried to put a head on but I wasn't done cleaning yet.
There are different classes of fit as well and the ARP threads are rolled, not cut. That may be some of the reasons you observed what you did.
