i'l see if roger can take some time out to see if the factory heads do come out to 65cc as specified by GM.

THE mistake is saying AFRs were worth 40rwhp with no other changes to stock C5.

factory heads are 66.66cc I believe. So you can get you numbers straight.

you can order AFR heads in just about any configuration you want. AFR sent the heads in 63cc CNC ported. as J-ROD said in the first thread, who wouldn't raise the compression when doing heads? now let the other thread go and live with the data in this thread.

as would i. but we all know weather conditions, track prep, and such play a role in overall performance.

These heads look great, and I'm going to buy a set as soon as (*if*) I can locate a set in stock and ready to ship that have been milled from the factory. Apparently, AFR doesn't recommend milling once they leave the factory because it may leave the wrong gasket surface finish.

Default OK ... but what about me?

:o)

I'm just absolutely stupid when it comes to heads. Straight-up, what kind of numbers can I expect with my cam <sig>. I'm buying a set of AFR 205's. Should they be milled or unmilled?

Guess I'll answer my own question ... will get the unmilled AFR 205's 'cause JRP says so. I assume unmilled, unless I swap cams. This thread and JRP sold me on AFR 205's ... unmilled. Just gotta' figure out where the money will come from ... ain't happening this spring ...

ok some more test results. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...CT%20PAGE.HTML

even a comp cam 220/224 .581/.581 115 LSA w/ vinci/crane 1.7 accelerated lift rockers vs the 055 216/224 .551/.551(1.7) 113LSA w/ vinci/crane 1.8 accelerated lift rockers(brings it to .583/.583).

Oops!!!! I already posted this was a misquote ... have no idea why it's showing up again. JRP had been speaking to a set of TEA 5.3's unmilled. He got me straight and I posted this was a misquote on my part. JJRP reccommended AFR 205's be milled to 62CC with my setup ... Cometics gaskets I believe .035-.040" thickness.

Sorry to intrude, but, I had to set that straight. To get back on track, I'd like to see the results with the AFR 205's and a 224/228 or bigger Vinci cam.

the only thing i can say is i am impressed with AFR! but i think its rediculous how every one wants THE PERFECT TEST. then when someone tries it every body picks and pokes at it until you decide the test is oblivious . if you dont wanna buy the heads you sure as hell dont have to. just sit back and relax. there will be many more examples and tests to come. some people you will never please.

as for me im patiently waiting for my money or a price drop

Why would drag radials hurt 60' times? Compared to the run flats I thought this would be a huge improvement.

Interesting that the smaller cam actually looks better than the larger one. It would be interesting to see what a 228 or 230 cam would do.

I am amazed that these numbers are without an upgraded intake manifold or throttle body - although maybe not on second thought since the power isn't coming in the form of higher revs but with more torque...

Awesome results!!!

What's with all the negativity?!

This post was made to show what can be done with heads alone. I think it is an EXCELLENT comparision with great results.

All the information was provided.

You complainers forget they didn't HAVE to do anything. They did this to share information to us as consumers.

Great job!

Chris
