trex cam in a daily driver

Look at TSP 233/233 or 233/239
Futral F13
G5X2 or G5X3
These would all be better choices for a daily driver. unless this car sees the track every weekend and you have the supporting mods you're not gonna like it. What are your goals for times and such at the strip?

IMO, the TR224 would be a better choice. Plenty of torque in the low end and good peak numbers. Easier on the valvesprings also.

Good luck with it if you decide to go with. You want regret it!

There is no way I would put a TRex in my cam only stock displacement LS1 for a daily driver. In my opinion the TR224 is a much better choice for a daily driver.
Good luck.

The TQ was slightly lower than the TR230 below 5K but continued to rise passed it after. It's not like there is no TQ, it's just not as high as some smaller cams. It did quite well in my A4 3.23 geared car, the trick is tuning and with a TQ converter and proper tuning to the A4 itself, it's probably more streetable than an M6 as I had mine pretty dialed in. As far as a DD, I like hellbents10 definition
. Seriously, if you can take it, it's fine. For me, it would be a bit annoying but it's no DD either. The TR230 was actually a sweet cam and a decent DD as well. I would look at something a bit more lower RPM friendly though, as your not gonna want to spin your stock bottom end up to what the Trex loves, 7200+!!! I lost my last motor at 6900 for those that think it's fine and is lucky enough to do it all the time...
