Default Ported Heads: LS6 or 5.3

I am going to order some heads soon and I would like to know what the differences are between the LS6 style and 5.3 heads. I plan on buying from FFHP if that makes a difference. I tried a search and came up with very little information. I plan on staying a street car so torque is nice to have. Thanks much!

Go with a ported 5.3 casting with 2.02/1.57 valves.

4.8/5.3 heads have smaller chambers and small runners, hense higher CR without milling than LS1's and good trq heads.
LS6 "style" heads are 6.0 heads with welded chambers for 59cc and have bigger runners for more peak flow.
There is a tread by JRP, comparing ported LS1 "241" castings and LS6 PP heads on this forum if you would like a comparison.

The middle lift #'s on the LS1 ported were better than PP "LS6 style", while PP heads made more flow on top.

So, basically you should match your cam to the heads that fair better with the cam parameters, or give your complete cam specs and mods to a sponsor and have them port a set of heads to match the rest of your combo.
