Do any of the valveguides go through a waterjacket in any of the Gen III heads (5.3, 5.7, 6.0, etc)?
Anyone know?

Thanks guys...
I have a guide that somehow pushed itself out of the head ~1/2" or so. That particular cylinder had been taking in some oil (now I know where it was coming from <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> ). The guide itself doesn't look too damaged, but there is a small crack in it that does not go all the way into the liner.
This engine has always had a small coolant consumption problem (that I'm pretty sure was a head gasket issue), and I was just wondering if there was any possibility that it could have been caused by the valveguide backing out.
My buddy (who is doing the head assembly for me) is going to have his cylinder head guy look at it tomorrow and see if it needs to have a new guide pressed in or not... I'm in no big hurry as the motor needs to stay out of the car for another 1-2 weeks while I finish up a couple of other small projects that are much easier sans engine.
