Default Upgrading lifter/Magnum

What are thr pro's & Con's to upgrading/changing the stock lifters on an LS6 (with modifications-cam, heads, valve train etc) to a set of high energy or magnum lifter's.
Will this help with piston slap(lifters collapse)
Any benifits to power or longevity.

Good question. Not much advantage that I know of. I'm almost ready to put a set of Comp OEM replacement lifters in my engine, and they look stronger. They are fully enclosed on the roller end instead of being slotted like the stock ones. I'm only putting them in because they are half the cost of stock lifters.

Just the facts.

1) Almost anything you can buy today is of better quality than it was 10-20-30 years ago. Cars are definitely(!) no exception.
2) With extremely few exceptions, aftermarket performance components for the LS1 are of better quality than stock. This certainly includes valvetrain components including springs, rockers, retainers, valve guides, machining tolerances (when performed by knowledgeable folks), lifters, camshafts and bearings.

There are ZERO downsides to upgrading the stock lifters. No, this will not in any way affect "piston slap" (installing better lifters isn't gonna do a thing to alter yer cylinder geometry...)
