Default quick cam question

I just recently got a cam and i am lookin at putting it in soon, but wanna get a good idea from you all if you think i will run into clearance issues. I have talked to some friends that are very framilair with the insides of these motors and i am gettig mixed opinions well heres the specs.

intake exhaust LSA
Dur. @ .050 236 236 114
Lift 585 585

cars is a 98 camaro stock heads for now

Go to www.ls1howto.com

THey did a cam swap and made a "write up" on it, which they posted on that website. I honestly don't think you'll run into any "cleareance" issues when doing a cam swap.

But, don't quote me, since I've never done a cam swap on an LS1.

so just talked to MTI (its there grind) they told me that they have never had that cam in a stock displacment motor and that i need to check for clearence issues... has anyone had this cam in one or know something about it

hmm im gettin alot of mixed opinions some say yes some say no... geez any way to tell easy? LOL

That's an absolutely huge cam for stock displacement. You WILL have clearance issues. You'd also need some MONSTER springs to prevent float. That cam wouldn't come "on" until over 4k. She'd be a nightmare to start on a steep hill...

no easy way to check, you just got to take the time and do it. not fun but it will save you in the end
