Default question about stroker cranks

Hi,
I was wondering if the eagle stroker crank(4.0) would require clearancing in a stock block? and if so what all in involved in doing that? I am going to have the rotating assembly balanced, and then assemble the motor my self and was wondering.

also is there a site that has all the torque specs and patterns for our motors?

thanks in advance guys

Just clearance the bottom of the bores for the rods, also check your clearance on the windage tray- if you are using ARP studs the washers that they come with should do it.

As far as i know there sould be no cleance problems. You will need new pistons and rods. Eagle makes a great stroker kit.

ok,
so when you say clearance the bottom of the bores for the rods, what do you mean, just take a grinder to the bottom? How much area are we talking about having to remove? And this is necessary?
Thanks

You can not remove the metal your self you will have to have a mechine shop do it. Also you are going to have to have the bottom end balanced and the cyclender honed out.

thats what I was expecting, the hone isnt a big deal as the motor is already done and unrun so Im just swapping, rebalancing, and clearancing, but hopefully that wont be an issue

You will have to pull the motor and send it to the mechine shop for balancing.

Also do you have the stroker pistons or are they for a 346. If they are for a 346 you are going to have to get new onces. The 346 pistons have the wrist pin to close to the bottom of the piston and when u go to turn the motor over it will not even make it the piston will contact the heads.

We just assembled the bottom end to check clearance then grind the bottom of the bore to clear the rod bolts. We just use an air grinder to get it done. Worked great. Took the block into the machine shop for a hone and clean up after that. Engine works perfectly though. That was a 383ci stroker with all. block.
