I had a TR220 (114 LSA + most all bolt-ons). Set the limiter at 6600 RPM's while normally shifting at 6200-6400 (being conservative). Never had a chance to dyno it......spun a rod bearing while autocrossing.

If I had it to do over - I would have purchased the TR224 on a 112.
......I know have the Comp 224 / 581 / 112

Lesson:
I would advise one to run 6 quarts of oil in any type of "spirited" driving other than a straight line.
The other - the stock rod bolts aren't that great - be careful !

Most people that give thought to the TR220 are usually "swayed" to the TR224.......as they are both good "street" cams - but the TR224 can get you to 400 RWHP

.....BTW, I was around 370ish RWHP from what I tell (thru street testing)

I don't have a TR220, but I have a 220/220 581/581 110.

359/354 w/stock heads/tb and JBA shorties, still running a little rich (11.9-12.0).

Power peaks @6000-6400, TQ peaks from 4000-4800

Its pretty streetable.

I have that cam (on a 112). Mine's a '99 A4 with stock heads. It makes 359/375 with the converter unlocked.

With unmilled Stage 1.5 AFR 205's and the converter locked, I believe I can easily make over 400/420. I'll see in 3 months and will post the results.

I have all the bolt ons and the TR224 ( everything in the sig). I read on here chose the cam you want, then go one higher. I've only had the tr224 for a week. Its great, but one higher would be better, but I have New York sniffer to pass so it was out of the question.
I asked Chris at ECS who installed the cam what he was going to set my rev- limiter at, and he said the cam tells him where to set the rev limiter. he said he probly would not move it because the cam's range drops off at 6000ish. It made sence to me. if the power is not there after 6200, why bump up the rev limiter? it's only going to screw the motor apart. Im looking at the dyno graph right now, and the graph power lines cuts off at 6300 so maybe they bumped it up 100 to 6300.
RWHP starts to drop off at 5100 and RWTQ doesnt climb but a hair after 5900 to 6300. And im talk within 3 TQ at the most.

I guess im saying dont go less than the TR224

I thought it was a little shy also. I though id be at 380 RWHP, but tuning in the winter isnt the best thing I guess.

I see, but I thought they do more agressive tunes in the winter. I could be wrong though.

The TR224 on a 114 shouldn't drop off until past 6600rpms. Even my 220 on a 110 doesn't drop off at all to 6400, which is as high as I ran it up on the dyno. It goes flat @ 6000, but doesn't drop a hair to 6400..

now, on a 112 LSA a 224 might peak a little lower (say 6200-6300) but not much.
