Default Just ordered TEA Heads

I just got off the phone with TEA and ordered a set of 5.3 Stg 1.5 heads (milled .0010), but now I need to decide if I should switch cams or not.My car is the following:
1998 Z28 M6, MTI lid, LS6 intake, B1 Cam, TTS LT's w/cats, and Random Tech cat-back, stock 3.42 gears

My car is a weekend toy that I take to the 1/8 mile dragstrip about 5 times a year. I would like to maximize the perfomance of my car with these new heads but I am not sure if I should keep my B1 or switch to something bigger such as a X1 or TR230. I only think it would be worth switching if it would give me atleast an aditional 10 horsepower without sacrificing a lot of torque.

Should I switch cams and if so what has proven to be the best cam wth these heads?

My cam seems to like the TEA heads.

Thanks for the reply LOnSLO. I am intersted in the F1 cam, but I went to Futral's website and looked at thier cam section but did not see the F1. Is it a custom design. What RPM range is it designed for. I currently have my revlimiter set at 6800 and shift at 6500. Is this similiar to your shift points.

I see you are also from Atlanta. Do you ever go to the South Eastern Dragway in Dallas?

The F1 comes from Speedtek. I have the same cam - rev limiter is set at 6750 (I had it at 6800 but I was to chicken to leave it there), and I shift around 6400-6500.

I have had a couple of cams with my TEA S2's
230/230 .575 114lsa
230/230 .575 110lsa
I liked both, the 114 idled better but had less power. My next cam is going to be a traditional split, if your interested in the results they will be up in about a week.

i just got in on the Absolute head sale(he extended it for me)

Prices were 1350 for stage 2's with single springs and 1499 for dual springs! No way in hell im paying 2400+ for other heads out there when TEA and AS heads flow just as good!

TEA has a GP for stage 1.5's for 1470!

Both are great.. i had to flip a quarter almost, but from talkin to Jay on the phone he sold me to his heads <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

You'll love the TEA heads. I'm running a set of the SII 5.3's on my 'vette and the power is incredible. Brian and Brent are top-notch guys, and I'd be more than willing to do more business with them at some point in the future. They've earned my repeat business - they will treat you right and give you an awesome product at the same time!

Does anybody know what SpeedTek's website address is? I would like to learn more about the F1.
