Default oil pump o ring

Hey guys when i had my engine work done i had them to put in a ported oil pump, when they installed it the put silicone on the pump where it meets the block, is there suppose to be an o ring there, i noticed there was no groove for an o ring, my oil pressure went down to about 30 at idle after all the work an i figured with all new cam bearings and new parts that my oil pressure should be about the same as before they did the engine work.

Normally there isn't anything between the oil pump and the block unless you have a double roller, in which case there are a couple of spacers for clearance. When I did mine, however, I put a small amount of RTV between the spacers and the block. Not to seal, but to keep the stuipid things in place and lined up while installing the new oil pump. Is 30psi at hot or cold idle? How much does it differ from what you used to have?
