Default change in cam choice

Originally decided on AFR 205s and G5X3 but have to flycut pistons unless go with the 66cc head. Tony @ AFR suggested to go with a smaller cam and mill the head to 61-62cc for more compression. That would make a better combo. My question is what cam will yield the best combo, power being the most important issue? Ive seen the 224/228 in Tonys combo, looks good. Ive seen 226/230 XER in one of Norris motorsports cars that also looked good. I was wondering about the 233/239 ? Will it clear and how about the combo for power w/AFRs. Another ? what if I had the heads at 65cc with the G5X3 it would still have to put out more power than a stock headed G5X3 car which I saw produce over 400? Any input would really help seeing Im ready to purchase something so I can get started to making more power! THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!

i rented the flycutter from TEA and did it myself with the engine in the car. its time consuming but very doable. no dyno numbers yet as we are buried in snow up here

your back to square one with the 233/239 as it will not clear the milled heads. if your going to flycut just stick with the x3. i vote fly cut and run the x3 or dont fly cut and run a smaller cam since compression is your friend. obviously even with the stock chambered afr's and an x3 you'll make a ton more power then an x3 cam only.

THANKS JRP I think youre right but how much of a PITA is flycuttin while the motor is still in the car and half under the firewall? If i end up going that route i will probably go with the 225s and G5X3. Anyways thanks again for the input.
