Another 400+ cam only dyno..

Its amazing how reaching 400+ rwhp a while back w/heads and cam was a milestone...

Great #s! What did your car dyno at before the cam and tuning?

Excellent #s! My car did 390/376 with the TR224/114 through a Moser 12-bolt/4:30s last year with stock heads. It was an awesome cam on the street!

I was hoping for the same #'s with a hammer type cam. Mine is a everyday drop off the kids driver, and I've heard to stay away from those aggressive cam lobe ramps like the tr's and xe-rs. Hasn't that cam been around a while? Why is it that only lately people are throwing down over 400rwhp? I'm still between the hammer and the tr224. I have a 99 6m. Good to see someone with Borla!!!!

It all about have the right parts to compliment the cam and good tuning. It much easier with a hugh cam but you sacrifice in other areas.

CRASH02: Those are great numbers. Congrats.

IMO the TR 224 cam is the cam of ALL cams.
I've only had 4 cams in my car but this cam was CLEARLY the best one.The power it makes w or w/o heads is amazing. The drivability of it is second to none and the TQ it makes puts a grin on your face.

I cant think of a better cam thats not to big that u have to spin it to the moon to make power or to small that u dont hear any lope.

I'm working on a project right now...
Can u guess what cam is gonna be in the car

I just spun a rob bearing and bent the crank last Thur. night so I decided to do a budget rebuild with a little performance parts in there.

I also chose the TR224 cam and will let you guys know what HP it puts out when it gets put back together.

I love my TR224 cam. It makes great power and is very well mannered despite the neck-snapping HP and torque it makes. Good choice on cams and I'd have this cam in any stock-displacement motor, as it seems to be one of the few 'foundational' cams that you can build almost any type of engine off of.

Good numbers!!

Hey Paul, I bought a used Borla from ya'll about 3 years ago from Angie. She was great to deal with!!! I'm definitely considering the tr224, but am concerned a little bit about extreme ramps, ie slapping the valves open and shut. Is it really noisy? How often would I expect to replace springs? I'm on a ridiculous budget and would like to get by with stock retainers. Anyway, it's a ways off. About the 400rwhp, it seems as if people just recently started spewing those numbers (last 6 months or so), and I've seen cam/heads cars still not making the mark. Good job!!!

Ok guys I plan on ordering this cam very soon, but there are a few questions that I have first.
1)How long will the factory 10 bolt last me? I will not be doing any hard launches off of nittos or anything like that.
2)How long will the factory clutch last?
3)Which one is easier on the Valvetrain the TR224 on a 114 or the TR224 on a 112?
Thanks Guys

Mine sounds like a sewing machine. I think all do with this cam and the 918 springs.

Was that dynoed at Ed wright?

If it was, post the graph, he likes to use STD #s for some odd reason

Great #'s! This is the cam I'm going with in a few months. Can't decide in a 112 or 114 though. I can't wait to get it done!
