I'll try to get you guys some sound clips of the new Texas Speed 233/239 Revision 2 Camshaft. This camshaft has a more aggressive lobe compared to the previous camshaft & seems to offer great power & a nice idle

jason, is that what the "R2" stands for after the 233/239 on my card i have on my cam? what was revised on the cam and how does the R2 run compared to the original version of the 233/239? i'm sure i'm not the only one wandering about this, could you give us a little more information on this?

hey hugger1975 i heard your sound clip earlier today and wanted to tell you that thing sounds wicked. is your cam the R2 version that Jason at TSP was talking about a couple posts up?

I will be ordering this cam any day now. If I do, will I be getting the r2 version? BTW, I have Absolute Speed 5.7 heads on my car. What needs to be checked to make sure that my pistons don't need to be flycut? I'm not sure if the heads have been milled at all.

my 233/239 was a "version 2" is this what you are talking about? BTW, Jason thanks for all the help on picking my heads to go with this cam, i got them installed last night...all i can say is WOW. I was so amazed with the power this cam gave up top when i first put it in, but with these 5.3 heads, you can multiply than pull up top by 2!!! it pulls like a freight train.

well, that is what you need to find out. if those heads have 2.02/1.57 valves in them, you can only mill them 10 thousenths, that will leave you with 80 thousenths clearance on the intake and 70 thousanths on the exhaust. i left mine unmilled because milling them .010 's will only boost my compression by.1 so its not enough to risk it.

mine says the same, just curious about what was revised and why. i can't wait to put this cam and the rest of my goodies on the car, they tease me everytime i go into my bedroom cause i have 2 big boxes of parts sitting in there. my wife can't wait till i do the install too so she don't trip over the boxes anymore. i told her the parts would sleep on her side of the bed if she kept tripping over them.
