Default Whats a safe DCR for running pump gas with no problems (including in summer heat)

Trying to plan a heads/cam combo and I didn't realize how confusing it can get!

I need to be able to run safely on 93 Octane with no ping worries...

For starters is an 8.7 DCR ok?

TTT. I might be running one as high as 9.1. Is that too high for 93 Octane?

8.7 and 9.1 should be ok on the 93 as long as it is tuned properly. The 9.1 car may have to run a bit less timing.

Check out David Vizards articles on the Engine Masters or Popular Hotrodding magazine. I can't remember which it is right off the top of my head. He has a chart which listes what DCR can be run on what fuel at different engine collant temperatures. Very neet stuff.

Engine Masters Fall 2004 Volume 7 No. 2. Has the pictures of the Banks twin turbo monster motor on the front. Also the lsx 78mm intake test.
