My friend dropped an LS1 spring retainer in his massive engine compartment while installing his new cam. It is hiding and has not re-surfaced...


...We pulled a spring retainer off an 2002 LS6 spring from a ported head that wuz lying around...

we compared the sizes and it did not seem to be the same size. The diameter was about right but the whole in the LS6 retainer was a tad bigger. Therefore, I assume the 02 LS6 spring retainers cannot be interchanged with the LS1 spring retainers....

Interestingly, the spring keepers were identicle. Assume retainers are not a dealer stocked item? Do you have to buy 16?

Is this right?
