Question I need a cam!

I am needing a cam for my car, I have a hotcam in the car now with stock heads, and it netted me a 6.9@100 on a 175 wet shot w/a 1.55 60'. I usually cut 1.4x's, regardless, I am tired of the hot cam. So I have made a complete make over on my car, NOW I NEED YOUR HELP.

The cam that I picked out for my car, is SUPPOSEDLY too big. It is a custom grind lunati cam. 237,242 595,595 112*lsa; power band is 3k-6.5k, 4*advanced built into it. But rumor has it that I will have to "flycut" my pistons in order to run this cam with my heads. Whether or not this true, i have not a clue.

I figure I should give some info on what I want and what my car has done to it.

This car is my daily driver for right now, i have intentions of getting me another tow rig, just waiting for a few things to get straightened out first. I drive the car around 65-70 miles a day, this is on 28" radial tires, skinnies up front and no power steering. I want to run some good times and have good power on motor, but I will be spraying the car also. I have intentions on spraying in the range of 150-200, and if it comes down to it in any of my classes I will spray a 250. I would like to put 425ish down on motor if that was feasable.

I will be launching the car on a full slick, rpm's being anywhere from 5k-6k sidestepping the clutch. Just depends on how well the track is sticking. Shifting normally at like 6400, but im not to scared to shift higher.

My car right now with the cam in it, has STOCK tuning. So driveablity was a pain at first, but I figured ways around everything. So a thumper of a cam isnt going to bother me really.

About my car:

2k Trans Am
346ci / M6 (tranny was rebuilt this year)
9inch w/4.30's 3inch studs
H.D. subframes, UMI adj. lca's, pan hard bar, adj. torque arm
H.D. driveshaft
Pacesetter LT's w/ x pipe dumped with 18" bullets NO cats
Weld Skinnies, 275x60x15 (street use) 28x10.5x15 ET DRAG
Air Lid, of course
LS6 intake
NX wet Kit
car is probably 3600lbs or so
Walbro 255lph
Hi energy comp r lifters
Patriot Stg II LS6 heads 2.02 , 1.57 valves 59 cc
160* thermostat
Asp pulley
Shortbelt mod
Ram clutch 910 disc, 402 pp, 1055 flywheel (i believe)
Taylor 8mm wires, NGK plugs TR6
Double Roller timing chain, with hardened pushrods
home ported throttle body, and throttle body bypass mod
egr delete
fast toys ram air
b&m ripper shifter, mccloed adj. master cylinder

Thats all i can think of right now, I know some of it is pointless to list but I figure it couldnt hurt.

Basically i want a AWESOME cam for the heads I have, but I dont want to flycut my pistons!

TIA

http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...%20LS1%202.htm take a look at the VHP cams. the 056 or 060 specifically. call joe vinci and discuss it further.

not asking for too much is see. the best thing to do is call everyone and make a descision you fell compfortable with. you'll be rewarded very well with the vhp cams. as well as all the others here.

You would go faster with a much smaller Cam that will give more midrange power.

hence the suggestion for the VHP 062 cam. and if he felt that was too small then the 056 cam. but talk with VHP first to make the final decision.
