What effect does Oxygenated gas have on our cars?

What effect does Oxygenated gas have on our cars? I just found out the gas up here is oxygenated with ethyl or whatever and also has an additive called tactrol. Ever since i moved up here, my car has KR and dropped gas mileage, now how come other ls1s up here are fine, is it because my car isnt used to the gas? i used to get 93 ultimate from sunoco, no oxygenated crap.
