Z06 check engine light with codes... little help please:)
hello, i guess i'll post my ls6 problem in here.
i have had a check engine light come on and off for a while.. acutally since i bought the car. the car has headers, cam , x-pipe, exhaust, etc.... i think that there are some O2 sensors not hooked up or something..i don't think that the headers have all the hookups for the 02 sensors... the light comes and goes but these are the codes i'm getting
P0154 "no 02s Activity Bank #2 Sensor #1
and
p0161 02 Heater CKT Bank #2 Sensor #2
can some one please explain this to me? is this hurting preformance or maybe gas mileage? is there a why to bypass this?

Without knowing the header/x-pipe setup you have, there is no way of saying exactly what is going on.
Most of the long tube headers delete the front O2s and only use one set back close to the cats. And it is possible the you have no O2 s at all. If you do have one set of O2s, they should be pluged into the front O2 provisions in the wiring harness and they are normally crossed rt/lft and flt/rt.
If you only have one set of O2s then you must use programming or O2 sensor delete hardware to not set DIC codes.
And yes if it can't go between openloop and closedloop performance and mileage will suffer.
Confused-- so am I!

First reasonable thing to do is buy new O2 sensors for the front (precat sensor #1) and O2 sims for the post car (sensor #2). make sure everything is plugged in right..and dont touch the end when installing. Why screw around?

With long tube headers you often get dtc p1133 and p1153 for lack of switching from o2 sensors. This is solved by switching the front o2s out for rear o2s and using an adapter harness. The rear 02s are higher wattage, and stayed heated. See this thread.

Yours sounds like possibly the o2 is not hooked up or the harness might be melted. Either that or the o2 has failed.
I left you a voice mail on your phone BTW...
