Default New Timing Chain??

I just ordered Futral's F-13 and Allan said that a new timing chain wasn't necessary on my 20K mile Z06. Are the timing chains in LS1's and LS6's the same? Should I just wait until my next spring change (another 10K) to do the timing chain or just get it done while it's apart for the cam? Thanks for the opinions guys.

I have used the stock timing chain for a while on my setup.(tr224 on a 114 lsa) I do have a rollmaster double timing chain now.

wow with the f13 i didn't think u had to change the springs as soon as 10k.. i figured on about 15-17k since allan said it was no harder on the springs then a tr 224..

anyways dude.. for 30$ u can put in a ls2 chain.. direct replacement and it looks about twice as strong as the ls1/ls6 chain. i can understand not wanting to lay down 100+ for a double roller chain that will have to be modified and stuff.. but taht ls2 chain looks like good insurance for 30 bucks.. spdc has them.

I'd just go ahead and change it since you're going to be right there.

Yes, I agree with the above guys. Throw on the beefy ls2 chain for $28.25 from SDPC. Its easy to do now since youll have the front of the motor apart. You wont have to take the motor apart when you change springs.

Allan didn't say I had to change the springs that early, I'm just a little nervous and for the amount of mileage I've been putting on the car 10K might be three years! Anyway, what is spdc? (I'm new here) Thanks guys.
