Default what is wrong with my car?!?!?!?

My car is stock with basic mods. I installed a few things this last weekend. I raced a car today that I should have taken and lost to him. His is a stock 01 SS M6 Car.

Here is all my mods. Please help me figure out what is wrong.
1. Whisper lid
2. MAF ends
3. Hooker long tube headers
4. 3" y pipe into factory muffler system
5. Cats removed
6. NGK TR6 Plugs at 0.035" gap
7. Throttle body coolant bypassed
8. TCI 3800 Stall
9. 3.73 rear gear
10. lower control arms
11. NX Nitous (was not being used at time)
12. 160` thermostat

I have LS1 Edit but the only thing I have changed is the trans shift times, torque reduction removed, Recalibrated speedo. Every thing else in the computer is still stock.

Please remember that I am at 3600' elevation, the car ran a 13.7 last summer before items #1,3,4,5,8, and 10. I put this stuff on last weekend. The car dynoed 320 RWHP SAE before that items but today only pulled 307 rwhp SAE.

I would think with a set of $600+ headers, Y-pipe, and whisper lid I would not have lost power.

The converter alone should have cut 3 to 5 tens off my time. All the stock cars up here are running 14.0 to 14.20 seconds.

I don't know. Maybe I should have someone tune the engine paramiters now.

what do ya'll think the problem is? I realy feel like the car lost power. It feels good but it just seems to have lost power since last summer.

If it was from a roll, you lost cause your converter ate up all your power.....if it was from a stop, i imagine you prolly blew the tires off with that fat converter and a 3.73 gear.....

can i have more details please?

It was from a roll, and it does toast the tires from dead still right now. I got my subframe conectors and new adjustable torque arm today. Going to try and install it this weekend. But still, I had him from the start with his bunper on my door. But on the top end he pulled me to were my bumper was on his door. He doesn't have headers, or anything added on that you could see. If it had a cam it was definatly a sleeper. I just do not understand why the items I listted above did not help any.

Dude, you live in Texas. There's about 100 shops that could work some magic on your car! the majority of the sponsors here are texas based----------------->

Get it dyno-tuned, and you'll never regret it!

I don't think anyone can do it through e-mail like that. PCMFORLESS can give you a good mail order tune. I don't know of a sponsor who does it through mail order, but maybe one does. Even though you have no internal mods, I assure you you are leaving alot of hp on the table with a stock tune with what you have. You can actually lose power with headers on a stock tune because it changes your a/f ratio.

I do not want to drive 4 hours to the closest shop. I am in BFE way West Texas. Hell we don't even have a lake out here, LOL.

No, realy the closest shop id probly Lubbock, there at least 3.5 hours from me. Would be nice if I could just find a tunner that could help me via e-mail.

I would be mad if any of my cars had ever run that. My 99 with a lid, and flowmaster ran a 12.75 with a 1.78 60", as for da not too far off with me being here in La.

My AFR was a wavy 12.2 before the headers and air lid. It went a wavy 13.2 with the air lid. then it went back down to a very wavy 12.0 with the headers. I know I should have not bought the darn things. The car is loud as h_ll now. But that will grow on me I guess. I wouldn't mind it so much if they just helped me like I thought they would have.

Dude elevation has a way big effect on times. If u calculate the diffrence between our level to sea leve we would lose at least 8 tenths maybe more.

You live in Louisiana? The air is way better there. I use to drive my car down dar to fligh offshore. When I got there it felt like I had the nitrous on. My car ran way better down there then it does here. Heck I bought the darn thing in Baton Rouge. Sure do miss Louisiana.

People just don;t think it makes that much a difference. U should come try it here i bet u it will be a big difference unless u have a turbocharger in which case u just turn up the boost.

damn man that sux dude.. i mean i can understand..... if he jumped out on u b/c of the 6sp, i would have thought u would have still, reeled him back in.. definetly not the other way around with the mods u have.. the auto will hurt you at the start, but after taht it shouldn't really matter once ur both going and you should have pulled back by him or never been behind.. honestly, i would think with ur mods u should be able to hang with a stock 6sp that had a 75 shot.. perhaps he snuck a 50-75 shot on you somehow.

the only thing to do is take it to texas speed nad let them dyno tune it and see if they can tell anything.. i think with hp tuners if u had a code u could scan it.. but since u dont there is prolly nothing wrong with ur car... i would instead ask, what did the other guy sneak past me.

Dude, TSP is located less than an hour and a half from Odessa, they're actually in Wolfforth. I've driven from Lubbock to Odessa many times and never have taken more than 1.5 hours and thats doing the speed limit. They could dyno tune your car and make that bitch run right and tight with no problem at all, you would be amazed! Screw mail order tunes, do it right and get it on the rollers at TSP!!! Good luck!!!
