Default Iron block prep?

I plan on getting an iron 6.0L block and having a crank, pistons, rods all installed and was wondering what I should have done to the block itself (machining and what not)? The block will be a brand new block. The motor will be set up with forged internals and will be FI later on when I get more money. any help is appreciated. Any suggestions of options will help too.

Where are you getting the block from?

How much was it for just the bare block.

I'm thinking of getting a block from TSP. I will be eventually be running FI on it so I want to build it up with forged parts. Do you need to have these blocks machined before installing the internals? I would assume at least checked for proper tolerances.

The only thing i can sujest is to get a BMR K member and when you get the block u will have to drill and tap for on of the alternater bolts.

HI: I would take the new block to a machine shop and have them double check the cylinder bores for out of round and taper to make sure it is correct. Also I would have them check the deck heigth of the block. It may have to be surfaced. Also I would have them install Main Studs and aling hone the main bearing saddles. I think the cam bearings come installed all ready from the factory on new blocks so you don't have to worry about that. I would just feel safer having the block checked out before putting it together. Good Luck
