Ok, I know this is a stupid question, but the valve releifs go toward the top of the motor, correct? I just wanted to bounce this off of someone before I switch all my pistons around that were put on with the valve releifs toward the bottom.

 

Yep, toward the top. Have a look at your cylinder head design; the plugs are outboard, the valves inboard. Who put your motor together with them down? I'd go after him with a ball-bat!
