Hehehe!!!! That's funny ... replacing rings at under 37,000 miles was not what I wanted to have to do ... thanks man.
Seriously, though, the smoking is mostly gone. When I first replaced the PCV valve, I dogged it several times and no smoke at all. As I drove it pretty hard for about a 100 miles yesterday, it started to smoke black just a little ... nowhere near the way it had been doing, though.
I still think I'll do a leak-down test to be safe. Anyone know how much it will cost to have a dealership do one for me?
