Help me choose a cam please I currently have a completely stock car (check sig). In the next few weeks I will be putting some cash in the car. Cam and bolt-ons. This is what I want to do.
SLP Flo-pac (Lid, smooth bellows, filter, etc...)
Kooks 1 3/4" headers
Kooks Catted-Y
GMMG catback
Some kind of tune
I am looking for a Cam for this setup which will meet my needs. I am looking for a noticeable idle lope through the LT's and GMMG but not too drastic as to compromise streetability. I am willing to sacrifice some of the stock low end torque, but not too much. I want the torque peak to reside anywhere between 4500- 5000 rpm and get max power between 6000-6500. I guess I will need to up the rev. limiter to 6500? Will I need to upgrade the valvetrain with this cam? Help a newbie

I looked at JimmyBlue's cam chart and I think I am going to go with the FM 11 instead of the FM 13. The 13 seems a little too big. Anybody have an FM 11 and any numbers or an FM13 and numbers for that cam?

I would not be afraid of cams in the 230 range; the loss of low end power is not nearly what you might think, and you gain a lot on the high end in exchange. You might lose 4 hp at 2000 rpm, but gain 40 hp at 6500 rpm. LS1's actually deal with radical cams much better than older engine designs did.
