[Q] draining coolant

If I drain the radiator and then remove the two drain plugs on the block, will that be all the coolant out of the motor? Also, how much coolant does a 01 ls1 hold? Is there any special sealant to put on the plugs? Are these plugs safe to remove or are they the freeze plugs?
