Default Can the motor run only on the K member?

Im not at that point yet, but I was wondering, since I will be putting this LS1 into a non LS1 Camaro... and since I have to replace just about every damn thing (I basically have parts to build another Camaro in my garage)... is it possible to set up everything and run it, that way if there are problems, I can minimize down time for the actual conversion process, by fixing the problem then and there.

I have a tubular K member and A arms as well as new spindles. I was thinking of bolting up some spare tires to the front to keep it off the ground and the tranny to a trans jack.

Would I need to hook up and fill the radiator or can I run it without for a few minutes?

Just wondering,

I wouldn't risk it. at least fill up the block and all the cooling lines with water or something. but don't leave it dry, make sure there is oil in it also. Also keep in mind the vibrations and the motor torquing over. Keep it very secure. You will also need to make some sort of makeshift exhaust to have have enough room after the o2 sensors for it to function properly.

Yes, I will be using a full exhaust, gas tank and radiator. I will probably mount some spare tires to the front suspension, so hopefully it will be stable. I'll probably mount the dash on some stools/chairs. The only scary thing would be the gas tank/fuel lines.

Who knows you might hear of some idiot in SoCal that killed himself in a garage on the news one day

Would I have any issues, as I wouldnt have rear end sensors plugged in. Im only looking at starting the engine, and possibly the initial spring warm up, test that there is no issues with the engine. It would be nice to hook hook up clutch hydraulics and test clutch operation too.

keep one hand on a kill switch

if they can run on an engine dyno, i dont see why it wouldnt run in yer garage. just make sure you have all the things hooked up that need to be hooked up.

Wouldnt u need to have a tranny on the motor. I have never seen a motor run out in the open. They always have a tranny or something bolted up to put some load on the motor. I dont think it would be a good idea but what do i know.

I would have the tranny (T56) bolted just not driveshaft or rear end (or body)
