400-425rwhp Question
I have been on this site about two months now and have been reading non-stop on everything I could and researching and researching some more on what I want to do with this car. I have finally decided on what I want to do, but would like to get your recommendations and also get some info on a cam.
THe car now has the SLP lid, Hooker Catback, BMR Sways and SFC's. That's it as far as performance goes.
I want to do Pacesetter or Hooker LT's w/ ORY, LS6 Intake, ASP, Ported TB, Cam, LS1 Edit, and maybe 100shot. I would like it to break 400rwhp without spray though. I do drive this car everday and would need it as dependable of course as possible. My last car was a 600hp Supra that I drove everday, so idle problems and driving problems are something I'm used to.
I plan on doing springs and pushrods and oil pump when I have the cam installed. I also would love a very aggressive cam. The more choppy at idle the better to me (within reason of course). I don't plan on doing heads or breaking into the motor at any point.
I also don't really understand what the various numbers on the cam specs mean and how to apply those numbers into how the car will act. So what might be recommended? Is this a good setup to do? What cam might be a good recommendation? I've been looking a lot at the FMS cams and heard great things there.
THis is all on a 2000 TA btw.
Thanks for reading my long post and for any answers you might give

sounds good. As for a cam choice, read through jrp's site..alot of info there. Aslo check out:

Choosing the right cam is tricky but i do know that the lower the lsa, the more aggressive the lope is gonna be.
As for the rest,
These cars have gonna well over the 600hp range and still maintain respectible street manners. Personally, why not get a heads and cam choice, i think tsp has a nice package but you should check out some of the sponsors------------------------->>>

(at the bottom, "texas speed heads and cam packages")
Also, i know its expensive, a fast 90mm intake, with burst panels, and a Nick Williams 90mm tb would help out tons with the heads/cam or simply with the cam.

(also at the bottom..)
I like the composite intake better than the aluminum but search for wat you like. I think with all of your bolt ons, nice exhaust and a sweet heads and cam, you'll be alot faster than wat your dyno is showing you.
Good luck!!

Wow I did not realize that TSP had both head and cam packages they did. That is a huge help! Thank you obZ. I greatly appreciate it. It looks like I might just have to save up a little more and do heads and a cam instead of just the cam. Or at least its something else to think about. Thanks again!
