Your pre-load may not be your buddies. . .

Your pre-load may not be your buddies. . .
1/4" turn, 1/2", 3/4" turn all depends on what thread size you are using to adjust with to set lifter pre-load. Don't assume since you have read or your buddy "says" that what your doing is right. Calculate the pre-load by using the thread size.
For instance:
3/8's x 24 thread. You think you need a 1/2" turn
1.00" / 1/2turn = .500" / 24 thread = .020" pre-load Not enough
Lets try 1 full turn
1.00" x 1 turn = 1.00 /24 thread = .040" Good.
Now lets try a 3/8" x 16 Coarse with a 1/2 turn
1.00" x 1/2" turn = .500 / 16 thread = .031" You are on the low side of good.
This may help it may not but I just want people aware that your 1/4" turn may be ok for your engine but for your buddy it may not be.

We need a sticky for this thread. Excellent info and something the general crowd needs to know. Like said before it is consistant on stock rockers but aftermarket adjustables will not be constant.
