408 time. APE or HPE would be tops on my list.
You could spray the hell out of a built bottom end 408 iron block.

Sorry about your engine's woes.

Drop Mikey at Rapid an email and ask him. Id rather you heard it first hand from the guy that builds the fastest motors around...and knows how to tune better than anyone. I hope you dont have any octane issues over there.

Actually DUBAI is in United Arab Emirates, North East of Saudi.
It is 5.5 Dirhams/ gallon or $1.49

Great city to live in except for the outageously hot Summers ~110F +

Nice thing is you can run 12.0:1 CR with no problems

Shifts at 6600 but under N2O (up to 200 dry at the track), I'm sure that contributed.
I very rarely use N2O on the street, only on pre arranged challenges, and then only 125 shots.
The rings are fine, pistons are fine, block walls are fine,
Just # 8 snapped 1 bolt and the cap was still hanging barely from the second bolt with no bearing.
Some scarring on crank though
I got lucky to shut it down seconds after start up and from previous experience, I knew what had happened.

Yaeh a bigger cubed motor would be nice, but budget is a little tight and I do not want to wait 3>4 month to have enough funds for that.
I think i will replace the motor with a brand new LS6 long block for around 6K$ and just drop in a bigger cam in for the moment. I'm thinking G5x1 or Fm11.
That is of course unless i can find a 346/47/48 long block with 5.3 stage 2 heads at $5500. Problem is core charge wich can range from $650>$1000 on stock cubes.

Even the SLP would require at least $7.5K to be worth doing it.
So the LS6 longblock is only $5300 and is a potent motor in itself. I think I could hit 420rwhp with the right cam. and some lower 11's NA, easy 10's on 100 shot with a wet 5177 kit conversion.

In the meanwhile, I feel very weird driving my brothers 2003 Honda Intergra Type R. (his wife is pissed too, it is her car) LOL

Man if you can spend 6k you are damn close to a stroker motor.

Lets just say you want a 408 iron which will be the same price as a 383 alum so these figures go both ways.

Forged 4.0 crank $1.5-2k
decent forged rods $600-$700
off the shelf diamond pistons $600-700
new cam $450.00
Heads complete 6.0 race style 2-2.5k
Bearings and Misc gaskets $300

Using the max prices above which you won't have to you get $6,650.00
Now lets say you get a Callies crank for 1.5k and get the heads for 2k (which is very possible and infact likely)

Now you are at $5,650.00 and you can use the remaining cash for a tune or whatever you want, maybe some new tires

Seriously man if you got 6k think about a stroker cause you are right there. At least do some shopping around to see where you stand.
Sorry to hear about your ride but good luck on the next build. I also recommend APE They have treated me really good since day 1.

ps, if you do go to APE tell them MikeK sent you so I can try and get a discount on my next motor

Wow I hate that your motor took a dump. I would like also recommend APE. Not to knock anyother place but Chris and Nick from APE have treated me like gold from day one. The prices are great and they made me feel extremly comfortable. Good luck on the new set up what ever it may be.

I e-mailed APE on their web site a couple of days ago but still no answer. I will try again.
I agree bigger cubes is the way to go. We will see.
But if all fails, I will have a LS6 Z28-06 (lol).

Dude...dont be a dumbass. There is no one even advertising an LS2 402WITH AFR heads for $7500. Im only talking ALUMINUM. Good 383s LS1s with GOOD heads go for $7000+. You cant buy 2 of anything for that price. Sure we know you can build one yourself cheaper...and yes ...346s are cheaper...but run what ya brung...

crate LS6 is ~6k.....longblock obviously. but i agree with Mike K, you can get a good plus cubed motor for ~6k these days. doesn't have to be lunati everything. fastech builds lunati iron 408 shortblocks for 4800 assembled. shoot Sean Freese an email to see what he can do w/o using lunati gear and the price should be cut in half, cuz that price is using ALL lunati stuff.

SDC is selling an LS2 402 w/ lots of forged goodies for $4000. He will sell it with a set of AFR's for $6,000. Look in the LS2 section. It's a sweet deal.
How do I know? Well, he told me.
link below:

LS2 SDPC

I have posted on a few different threads that we would work on a LS2 stroker short block. Well, I worked on it and parts are on the way in big QTY to make this happen at a fair price. We are not only going to build you a very nice short block, but we are also going to send every conversion piece you will need to make it happen.

Short block break down
*LS2 aluminum block (4.000 bore)
*Eagle 4.000 stroke crank
*Crower 6.125 I beam LS1 specific rods
*Diamond forged pistons
*Diamond file fit rings
*Clevitte 77 rod and main bearings
***Balanced & assembled***

We will also ship with every short block....
**LS2 parts:
*front cover
*timming set
*cam sensor
*front cover
*front seal & gasket
*valley cover

Everything listed above for $3,995.00

Please pm, email, or call me with any questions!!
