Exclamation Sponsors to the plate please

All, I've been doing for the past few days is e-mailing and researching longblock prices. From stock cubes to 408's.
One thing that you have to keep in mind is that I live very, very far from the US.
Shipping individual items is way expensive. I work for an airline Co. and with 75% discounts on cargo, it will still cost me $600 to ship this longblock.
The best so far is like I've stated, an LS6 longblock (no core and allready crated) $5280.00 and that includes cam, p-rods, rockers, timing chain, oil pump etc. All i have to do is slap another cam in, (918's, p-rods that I allready have) and I have a 420rwhp potential motor. (I made 404rwhp with LS1, Stealth II and bolt ons)
So $5700 + shipping and the motor goes in.
402/408 iron will be more like $8K+ ship.
I'm still waiting for a couple of quotes LME and APE
The thing is I've seen longblocks 346, for as much as follows:
Shortblock $2775
Core $800
heads 5.3 stage 2 (300 cfm) $1500
cam $400
Timing chain $85 (Rollmaster single)
oil pump $130
Cometics .045 $145 for both
GM H bolts $35
Crate $100
Assembly $300

Total $6270 (I rounded off, so +/- 20)

That is ~$600 difference for a similar potential motor ~420rwhp and I'll have to reuse my Comp p-rods, stock rockers (55K miles) plus some other minor gaskets and wait 3-4 weeks for build up.
Sure it will be a little sturdier (ARP rod bolts and forged pistons).

Would it be more reliable than the LS6+ cam motor NA?, probably the same when built properly.

So if a sponsor (FMS,APE,LME,HPE,MTI,TSP) can offer me a 346 (or 370 ) longblock as above for ~$5800 fully assembled, crated and ready to go, I'm all ears.

Just a couple of things please (NO PP heads), min 10.5:1 SCR (11:1 preferred), .035 quench & a traditional split cam 230 range 114 lsa (a little bigger if 370)

mark.habib@emirates.com

I give it 1 more week then I make my decision.

Thanks to all that have commented and to the sponsors that are willing to work with me on this.

Mark

I agree w/ Sam98ws6. You are a dumb ***. my 72 SS makes 450hp and 525tq and I race it w/ no knock sensor and it hasn't blown up. Just tune it correctly and run a safe a/f ratio.

No KS tuning is perfectly safe if done properly.
Otherwise no motor would have run untill the first knock sensor was created.

For me money is an issue, I do have a budget.
If this motor I need was race only, I would not think twice about running without KS on my motor. But the weather here makes KS a good safety for Street/Strip motors.

LME is making a nice proposal and their approach is very professional IMO.
Thanks to KoolRayz for referring me to them.
And a big thanks to Bryan (LME) for his dedicated behavior.

This is the breakdown in parts for the longblock:

347 shortblock.Balanced, blueprinted and assembled.
Wiseco nitrous 3.905 forged w/2cc VR
Callies 6.125 H riods
C&A Dura moly rings
Fed Mogul main bearings
Clevite rod bearing
Dura bond cam bearings
ARP main studs
5.3L heads, ported and polished, 2.02 int/ 1.600 exh Ferrea valves, Manley dual springs, Manley Tit. Ret., Manley locators, machined keepers, GM valve seals
Cam Motion camshaft (I'm thinking 228/230 112lsa,)
Crane roll. Lifters
Cometic gaskets (0.41)
Rollmaster double with torington bearing
Ported oil pump
ARP head bolts

SCR will be 11.5:1
quench/squish 0.036

What do you guys think?

i know am late , sorry for ur gone LS1 .. where u ganna burry him .. since this is my second block ... utilize this opportunity dont be like me ,get what u really dreamed of.. dont put restrictions .. the door opens RARELY .. and u dont know when it opens again .. inshallah it never opens soon .. maybe later after another 55k .. that would be fine .. i can see that u already made ur calls and E mails .. i really envy people in the states .. man the shippment tastes SO BAD .. that is with the 75 per cent discount .. ahhh ! i pay half of my fund to both the shipping company and the costums (here in saudi arabia ) whatever if it is me ill go with bigger displacement .. since there is NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT ...

good luck

Thanks 57Eagle, but you know "bayzat" are limited.
I would love a stroker and i will get one, but it will be for my 99 Firebird/ stripped race only (long F*****g project)
This one is my DD and some track use, stock cubes will be fine (all within budget with a well balanced set up)
