Default PRC springs any good?

Just got my stuff from TSP, I thought I was getting Crane 2x gold springs but I really got the Precision Race Components GOLD springs, Ti retainers, seats and seals, rated up to .660 lift. Should these springs last a while and be reliable when spraying and making 550-570rwhp? Just curious. Haven't seen much on these.

The PRC spring kit will work perfect for you.It has more pressure than the crane duals to help stop valve float.

Am I still going to have to change them every 15-20k miles? Glad to hear they are good springs.

depends on your driving habits. you'll probably want to check them every 10k no matter what spring you run.

How do you check them? take them out and take em to a machine shop and measure the lbs in a vise? If I am going do that, I might as well change them. Its pulling them out thats a biatch, not buying the new ones. Guess thats the price you pay for running a healthy cam huh?

I'd run the PRC's any day over the Cranes. As for measuring the pressure. You should only remove 1 or 2 to test, not all of them

Now pulling a few of the springs for testing is definetly do able. The car is not a daily driver so it will take me a while to put 10k miles on it. Its a 99 with 27k so... BUT if I had to start driving it again, I wouldn't want to be pulling springs every 3rd oil change. Oh well, thats life. As long as it hauls ***!

Only a few companies make springs. People like Crane, PRC, Com..etc buy them in bulk to the specs they want. I beleive the PRCs and Cranes are made by the same manufactuerer.

We've been filling back-orders for the PRC dual valve spring kits as the titanium retainers have arrived. We've been working down the list in order of order date. We shipped over 20 spring kits this past week, so feel free to give one of our sales guys a call to see if yours was shipped out.

As for the PRC dual valve spring kit, it's one of the best on the market. It comes as a complete kit, and the retainers have a much better fit than other kits on the market. You have the reassurance of a dual spring, the versatility to run the most mild to the most wild of hydraulic camshafts, and proper tolerances to ensure a perfect fit. It doesn't get much better than that.

Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions or concerns. We will be more than happy to help you out.

I would like to know why it is werd that I said the PRC spring is a quality spring? Being I am fortunate to know the origins on alot of product made for the high performance industry I can look beyond the marketing and hype and use solid information.

Coils made from super clean material are of higher quality then standard chrome silicon springs and are designed for endurance applications.
