Default what lsa would you recommend for a 408??

i was having this discussion with my friend about what lsa to use on his 408. he plans on spraying 250 shot through a TNT F4 DP. i was thinking that a 114 was most suitable, but he insisted on getting a 112 lsa. can he use a 112 lsa and not leave a lot of hp on the table? what would be the advantages of going with a 114 over a 112? i need as much input, he plans on ordering his cam tomorrow and said he would let you guys decide the lsa. thanks in advance.

114 will raise the peak power a little more. imo i'd go with the 114. he should also be concerned with duration numbers.

You can't pick the right LSA without knowing the duration numbers first.
Less duration will need less LSA to be streetable... larger duration will need larger LSA for the same effect.

is this gonna be a nitrous orientated cam, n/a, or a little bit of both? also like ^ stated, we need to know the duration.

I went with a 244-248 on a 112LSA. I have about 12.5:1 cr and will be hitting a 100-150 shot on occassion.

Anything under a 200 shot, you should choose the cam based on N/A performance goals. If spraying over a 200 shot, then you'll want to open the exhaust valve a little earlier (because nitrous burns so much quicker than gasoline and air alone). An earlier exhaust opening will reduce pumping losses and increase power. You can open the exhaust earlier by advancing the cam or by widening the lobe separation angle.
