I change mine every 5k miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. And for me, it's usually 6 months...

Wrong! I just went 6100 miles on this oil, for the four coldest months of the year, and my oil analysis proved this oil could've gone even longer.

The 3k/3mo rule is so outdated it's not funny. Even conventional oil can go 5k. Synthetic can go much longer.

I will be following my oil life monitor for all my oil changes now, so my intervals will be closer to 8000 miles.

I've had it in my 03 3500 Chevy Express for the last 8500 miles.I'm going to run it till the change oil light comes on again, probaby around 12,000 miles.

I drive it 75-125 miles a day during the week.

I'll do a Blackstone lab analysis at that time and will report the results on the board.

That's nice to know, since It's been about 9k miles since I've changed the oil in my 92 Lumina 3.1. 10W-30 Havoline. ****. Maybe I should change it...

When you drain out your oil you simply collect it in a plastic container (supplied by the place which will then analyze the oil's condition along with the wear metals which are in it) Most people in the US use Blackstone labs.
