I know I won't be coming close to its FULL potential as a 383, but I would hope that in using the 383 I could get a good amount more ponies than just putting this motor back to stock (for only a little more money while the motor's already out). What kind of numbers do you think I'll make?

thats for a fully machined 402 shortblock. SDPC and SLP 402 shortblocks can be had for ~4k; thats block, eagle rotating assembly (4" forged crank, 6.125 forged rods), off the shelf pistons (diamond flat top or dish), and bearings. block machined and ready to go with everything already assembled.

Check the thread in the LS2 forum; it has all of the details. The SDPC is a killer deal and comes with some LS2 parts that are required, but you will need the LS2 lifter retainer trays.
