Default newbe needs a little info

hello, i recently purchased a 6.o from a buddy. here is all i know- stock 6.0 w/ arp rod bolts, arp head bolts "asa cam", 243 heads, the valve springs are a bee-hive shape and they are blue.
any ideas on hp?
any ideas on compression?
what are the blue valve springs?
this motor is going in a 2800 lb vehicle that needs alot of mid to top end hp.runs on 110 octane fuel and i really like a good rumpity rump idle.

any suggestions/coments/opinions are greatly appreciated!

the asa cam will give you that idle. if you do in fact have 243 castings, those are LS6 heads(badass castings, best heads from GM so far in a mass production car already for sale). the blue beehive springs sound like Comp 918's.

are the heads shaved any? the 6.0 pistons have valve reliefs in them, so that will lower CC a little, but the 243's should bump it back up. can't give you any numbers until you verify whether the heads are shaved and whatnot.

should be a good motor!! not 500hp or anything but good decent numbers. you can always swap out the cam and go bigger if you need to.

what shortblock is it; lq4 or lq9? the lq4 has dished pistons (~8.6cc) and the lq9 has flattop pistons. the springs are 01 ls6 springs if they are completely blue, there 918's if they are just a regular steel color with a blue strip. the asa cam is a 226/236 .525/.525 110lsa; good mid range tq.

if you've got an lq4 then using stock perameters your around ~10.0 CR, if you've got lq9 pistons your at ~11.0. either case there is no need for 110 octain.

horepower will depend on if the heads are stock or have had work done to them, intake and exhaust system.
