Yeah maybe. I will say this, I've posted lots of questions in a nice sincere way. I've received more than a few PMs from some of those lurking sponsors you mentioned. THey gave me some great advice.

Thank all of you for your input. As for Rogers performance, I welcome whatever you or anyone else has to say about this. The point here is to find The one cause or many of the causes of the noisy valvetrains people are constantly bugged with.

Just saw this now but we don't really have those problem that much I guess? It is probably caused by insufficient preload like what happens on any other hydraulic lifter if it is run too loose. The stockers do seem to usually be preloaded around .060-.100 which is a lot but they lose about .010 of that on the aluminum blocks when hot. I am sure that certain rockers and certain cam profiles can make more noise than others though.

What lifter noise do these motors have? All I ever hear is piston slap, especially on the 5.3L/6.0L engines. Go through a drive-thru and you'll hear the sound reflecting off the building.

Stock preload one the ones I measure have been around .060" BTW. I've set them to as little as .012" to as much as .090" with minimal noise results.

If engine noise bothers you 'that' much where a slight tick makes you blow a fuse, then sale your LS1, buy a lexus, and live a happy life.

well the definition of ignorant is lacking of knowledge. so, don't look at it as a bad word. ignorant is doing something you didn't know to be bad. stupid is knowing it's bad and doing it anyway.
