454cui LS1, LS6???
454cui LS1, LS6??? Anyone actually tried this (4.125" bore X 4.25" stroke). If so, what machine work of the block was required for clearances (rods, camshaft, etc.)? Also, what are some of the important things to watch for in attempting this? Why do most people shoot for the 427...the 454 is possible isn't it?

When my 436 was built the only thing that was a guarantee with it was oil burning. It burns more oil than normal. I spoke with 4 other 436ci owners and they all burn oil. It has to do with the stroke and the ring set used, according to what all the top shops have told me. They also said that a 427 doesn't have that problem and the power is only a tiny bit less.
So a 454 will just be worse off.
I burn about 1 quart every 800 miles now. But its worth the power
