Talking To all fuel injected hot rodders, ' beware'

In case you didn't know, Edelbrock has been selling their performer/carb set up for a while now. Well today I saw their advert. for a victor series/ carb manifold. For those that don't know a carb. from Pamela Anderson, this set up will work easily over 7000 rpm. Not only that, but they are soon to be selling high perf. heads as well. At least that's what the ad says.
It seems that the aftermarket world has taken to the ls engines like a duck to water. MSD, ISKY, COMP CAM, CRANE etc. etc. etc.
The more the competion for the hot rodder dollar, the better it will be for all of us gear heads.

Nothing wrong with that. If people are fighting for our business then prices should drop and quality should be improved!

I read awhile back about Edelbroack and Lingenfelter partnering on LSx heads. Sounds great.

Carbs are awesome technology, really made the whole industrial revolution a reality.

Caviat: Carbs are still great, so is FI. For all around driveability and self tuning to compensate for altitude and temp changes you can't beat FI for a street car. I live at 5,000ft, drive over 8,000ft mountain passes to drop down to seal level in short order...that's rough on a carb set up.

I've seen that ad as well. The Victor intake and a big throttle body on top would be the killer setup with a FAST computer.

News Flash... EFI engines can go over 7K rpms even 9K. It's not the fuel injection that limits the engine speed...it's the manifold itself (cam excluded for discussion sake). Take the Edelbrock intake manifold and put an aftermarket EFI on it and viola...same results. Only now you don't have to adjust the carb every two months.

This is what I am thinking.. I was thinking of running the LS6 for now and saving some money for a LSX 90mm and TB or a sheetmetal intake next year. I won't be making a switch for a while so I think I should sit back and wait. The intake can always be drilled for injectors if need be. Would love to see LS1's spinning to 8k no problem.

Its gonna be hard to beat AFR's heads, this late in the game.
But should prove to be interesting in the price wars, if they come out

be nice to see how the lingenfelter/edeljunk heads do compared to the AFR's

id say the afr 205 and the edeljunk would be a close match.
price will be the decision.

id still rather have the 225cc hogged out. hehe
