LS6 block ever in a camaro?
Also, if you do put an LS6 short block in an LS1 car, what are the gains and what is the differences? Where does the LS6 make it's power? Is it in the cam and heads or does it go far beyond that? I'm sure it does because Z06's respond much more aggressively to the same set of heads/cams than a regular C5...right?
Thanks for listening to the ponderings of a newbie.
Or to rephrase the question...
If a Z06 and an '01+ LS1 C5 has the same aftermarket heads and cams, would the power output be similar/same? Of course, I understand that the 1/4 mile times will be lower due to the decreased weight.
most reguard the ls1 block as being more structurally sound. it also offers the same power levels as an LS6 block. the ls6 in the z06 vette also has a better PCV system that runs out the front of the valley cover.

if your car is a 2001 or newer, you already have the LS6 intake manifold

Whoa! A contradictory statement. I'm tuned back in. Anyone like to respond? Better breathing must mean more power, right?

ls6 block has better oiling...in reality there is no difference...ls6 engines make the power in the cam, and the heads...hince ls6 heads which raise the compression
