Default oil in intake even with ASM catch can

I have a 427 ci motor. All cylinders 3-5% leakdown. Why am I getting so much oil in the intake. There is a small amount of oil in the can...but alot of oil in the intake.

What would cause this.

PCV in new....working fine. I am alos drawing from the plate below the intake manifold...I purchased the LS6 cover.

Thanks for the suggestions..
Tom

The pcv system is basically LUCK of the draw. Either it works or it dont, and many have tried combinations of all the different mods available. Its all on just what works for your car. I had breathers and that works nicely except for the oil smell and residue in the engine bay. I have also ran just the catchcan and I still got some amount of residual oil in the intake. Ive been trying to figure out a way to set up an evac system in the headers or exhaust, but backpressure is an issue when it comes to it working properly. If I just ran my car straight up race, which may be in the future, Im just gonna run breathers or possibly a evac system which will work because I will definitely have open pipes then. Good Luck

Default oil

Tom
Is it coming in front of the throttle body from the fresh air line .
It might be the baffel in the Katech valve cover is not doing the job .
I think I get some in the front also from the fresh air line.
I have the morosso evac system if you want to try it Tom ,It might be good for a couple of hp .
Its new and I have it setting here ,let me know
I'll bet if you still have the front hose from the valve cover to the front of the
TB u'll still have oil even with the evac system

the oil is from behind the throttle blade....not a drop in front.......The Katech covers do not have baffles.

Its definately coming from the PCV...

Keep the ideas and suggestions coming.

Default pcv

The vacuum line should be connected to the side and the valley pan line(LS6) should be connected to the top with the pcv valve in the line.

I run 2 VW clear fuel filters with my Greddy. One in line with TB/cover and one between catch can and PCV valve.
It catches the oil vapors that do not condensate in the can.
Not beautiful but effective.
In all i would say 97% of the oil that used to make it to the intake is now collected.

Why not just delete it all and run breathers on both sides. Cap off the Intake. Id figure with that 427 you have plenty of crank case pressure. Run the metco breathers. They had a great disscussion in the forced induction section. I ordered everything prostock J said. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....71&postcount=4 Waiting for my motor to be done.

Had the same problem you did, I tried every thing from LS6 valley cover to catch cans to inline filters but could not stop the oil vapor from getting in to my intake, finaly said F!#! it and now run open breathers.
