The low end on the 231/237 isn't all that great either. It loves it up in the 5-6800 range...... Really hates it down around 1500-2500, surging and such. BUT I really like mine and I could live with it as a daily. Thinking of going to the F14 myslef..

I don't think you have got the best from the 228/232 you have now.
I would say that your heads are whats stopping you making good numbers. They are the constriction in the system.
With good heads you will see a vast improvement at both ends.
Save your money and get some heads. You already have all the other bolt-on's.

It sounds like your tune is off. Have someone else/reputable retune the car.
Low mileage 241 casting heads with good valves for $125 shipped
