Default Which Cam for me???

I am looking at the TSP 233/239, TSP 235/240, and the LGM G5X2. My mods include full bolt-ons, TCI SSF 4000 stall, 26in MT DR's on prostars, and 3.42's in the rear. I am gonna spray it as well with a 150 shot. any input would be greatly appreciated.

C'mon guys, I have searched and searched and haven't found any compariosns of the two. I am not a newbie by any means, just would like to see if anyone has had experience with these cams and similar mods.

Yep, lovin' the TSP235/240, even though it's in a daily driver. If I did it again I think I would go with the TSP MS3 though now that I know 918 springs can handle more lift than advertized.

My question for you, is why not go bigger?

I guess it's not a matter of going bigger, it is just, i don't want to rev the motor super high. i have the weak 00 rod bolts, and would like to set my shift points around 6500, with the limiter at 6800.

My cam peaks at only 6400 rpm. Throw a set of Katech rod bolts on that engine and you will be good for 7200 rpm.

Katech's don't require rod-resizing, do they? I think new rod bolts will be added to the laundry list when I do a k-member, easy time to do it. If I don't have a cam by the time I want to do my k-member I need to quit school and start runnin guns so I can mod this car more.....

I run the MS3 in a 98 with SBE and have my shift points at 6500 and redline at 6800. Very fun daily driver.

You guys running these big cams how do they behave at slower speeds, ie: cruising while not on the throttle. Just had a 231-237 plus other valve gear etc in sig installed, car also runs a NZL after mrkt ecu. the tuner had one attempt & complained about cam lope, car shudders violently on partial throttle, shakes the whole drive line.

My f13 does just fine driving around town at slow speeds. I've tuned it myself and I think it behaves very well for being a bigger size cam.

My MS3 drives exceptionally at low speeds. Who is your tuner?

The only things my MS3 does are:
Hunt for idle after a cold start if I drive for less than 2-3 minutes and come to a complete stop and sit. There is a light just outside my apartment complex that I have to turn left at and it takes a long time to get a green light most of the time. I have to put it in neutral and feather the throttle on cold days. It is perfectly fine another half mile down the road at the next light though.
Slight bucking right at the converter lockup speed if I am cruising at constant speed. Have to accelerate oh so slightly or tap the brakes to unlock the converter.

The tuner and a lot of other mechanics here think the cam is to big, ***** this country sucks. I know i have to install bigger injectors, today i think i found a tuner who doesn't seem to think it's any problem to tune so i'll let him have a go after new inj go in.

Bah. I got a 237/242. So long as you have a high stall converter and steep gears. 4,000 stall converter and 3.73's with a large cam OWN at the track, and still daily drivable.
