Default TR 224 cam, what else needed for install

im looking to get the TR 224 cam for my M6 with 45k miles on it. what else do i need for the install. i looked at the thunder racing kit and im not sure what to get. can you guys help me and tell me everything i need for the install. i dont want to spend too much money on this though. and i want a direct swap on any parts, no modifications of anything. what do i need? (timing chain and oil pump, do i need them for the 224, small cam or?)

thanks J

You can leave the timing chain and oil pump completely alone and you should be fine. Do a search and read the ls1how.com cam install guide. In terms of parts needed if you buy a cam swap kit they usually come with everything you need.

get a new timing chain, its a good thing to change that sucker out any time you mess with it. the stock oil pump should be good though.

whats your list so far?? you will need spring kit, gaskets, some other little things. i suggest you go to ls1howto.com and read the cam install guide and find out some little things u may need

Cam, Vavle spring kit (with retainers, seats, etc), "basic" cam gasket kit, hardened pushrods... are whats needed

ported oil pump, asp under drive crank pulley, timing chain...are good things to swap while doing a cam
