Stock bottom end question

I'm wondering how much the stock bottom end can handle rpm wise. I've been told 6700 or so, I shift at 6600 and I feel I'm leaving rpms on the table. Would I get away with 6800-7000 if I put in ARP rod bolts?

The ARPs will let you spin higher with less chance of rod breakage (especially in pre-2001 cars). But- does your cam make more power up there? Are your valve springs up to it?

I have Patriot duals. I feel like when I shift I'm shifting too early, as it's still pulling like mad up there.

My dyno chart shows 400+ rwhp at 7000 rpm. Upgrade the rod bolts and you'll be fine.

I'd suggest using Katech bolts unless you want to possibly have to re-size your rods.

There's two kinds of ARP rod bolts; with the "Performance" series you shouldn't need to resize. The "Pro" series is the ones you should resize with. Katech's are probably the best bet though very expensive; $9 a bolt x 16 = $144 so about $150 with shipping.
