ticking ,chattering noise

well i got on it from a roll today, nothing seemed abnormal til i got the the light. Light turned green and it starts a chattering ticking sound but only around 2,000-2,5000 rpms and above, it does it in park or in gear... weird that it does not make the noise at low rpms, only around 2,500 and up, blowing my mind. Broken valve spring, pushrod?, collapsed lifter? what are your thoughts.. car still was driving fine still seemed to have good oil pressure and power.

did i mention the noise is coming strongly from the passenger valve cover area only?

maybe a lifter going bad. Hard to say without being there and hearing it. Can you get some video or audio clips of it?

wouldnt a broke pushrod, valve spring or rocker arm all make noise... even at idle, its quiet til 2500 rpms that leads me to think its not one of those and i might have a lifter problem. but i have limited mechanical knowledge

What mods if any are done to the vehicle? It could possibly be a valve spring, or a rocker arm too. Probably not a pushrod unless you have missed a shift or over reved the motor.

all normal bolt ons, t1 cam 221.558.112 and 02+ ls6 springs, maybe a spring broke who knows? i had second thoughts about the ls6 springs with that cam , 918 is what ill use next time... i guess ill dig into it and see what she looks like.
