Default Patriot Performance Recall

Patriot Performance is announcing a recall on all LS6 style heads that were shipped between 1-20-2005 and 3-15-2005. This recall is due to issues that may be found in spark plug hole depth (.160" too deep), and timeserts used in the rocker bolt threads. Any person who has heads that fall into this category, please contact us via phone, email, or PM to discuss the return and replacement of these heads. We ask that customers affected by this recall contact us within the next 30 days. Thank you and we regret any inconvenience this may cause.

Oh man, this is not good. Please answer the following questions for me.
1. What if I already have them on the car? Any labor reimbursment?
2. What if they were bought from another vendor that sales your LS6 style heads as their labled brand?
3. Will my old heads be repaired or replaced? How is the repair being done?

From 1-20 to 3-15 means you have no QC.Considering this thread started on 3-17 it seems that Patriot was unaware of this problem until this post.

I have ask this question before and didn't get an answer. Will all of the bad heads be destroyed or will you repair ( WELD ) them and sell them as new heads? If the heads are resold as used will they be reheat treated? The buying customer has now way of checking or inspecting this. They have to take your word that they are buying a quality product. It seems that your word is not worth much. With all of the problems that has come out of this place it seems that you have no QC at all.

Gunnar. I have a set of heads shipped during that time frame and have cleaned up some thread issues and checked the spark plug holes. I have quite a lot of labor in additional porting that I would hate to to again...How can I tell if the plug is seated to deep? They appear ok just looking at them but .160 is not that much. Let us know.

I'll soon, give you a detailed version of a "BIG NAME"'s company and how they take care of their problems! I'll give a list of who does and who doesn't stand behind their product. Stand by.

They had a problem...every company has their problems..the difference between a good company and a great one is the ones that are willing to fix their problems

at least they are trying to fix the problem at hand. like someone already stated took a lot to do this. theyll learn from it and better the product because of it. thats how it works...usually.

well i know from personal experience that MTI stands behind their product. i wont even get into what kind of experience, but i know how dave treated me, and i cant imagine being treated in a more professional manner than i have been by him. in response to the "every company has problems" comment: i have never heard of a company having a more "known" reputation for issues with a product. fine...they fix the problem, but what a waste of time to install a product and find out weeks or months later that u will have to tear it apart and reinstall a new product....whether the labor cost is covered or not. anyway, no flame intended here...im just stating my opinion. it doesnt seem worth the risk with so many issues already on the board.
