Joel, this thing idles like, if not better, than stock. Nobody would ever know if you didn't tell them. After swapping it, I had to make sure I put it in and not the stocker

With a set of heads I made 400rwhp and 391 rwtq. That was with mid-lenght headers, switched to long tubes and noticed a pretty good difference. Nice cam but I'm trying out the F13.

Whats your take Pat,if I do adv it I'll need to buy a timing chain and I wanted to be as cheap as I can so I'm thinking of just putting it in straight up (3000 stall should be okay with it straight up)The LS2 cahin is only $29 and the SDPC spring kit is 215 plus 200 for the cam....I was going to use stock length pr as I've been told that they'll be fine even though the base circle is alittle different.

I could go Comp 54-424-11 too...
Remember I wanna run those CNC'd manifolds,no headers....

Thanks in advance you guys are always great.
FYI I have a 214/222 .559 lift 115 LSA I will sell you for $50 + shipping. It idles like stock. You will want to put in some good springs. PM me if interested. You should see 350-365+ somewhere in there with the other mods you mentioned. This cam will also work great with a blower...it made 480/435 on my old 346 with a P1.

That's a nice looking cam JS. One worth looking at.

As for the LS6 cam, personally, I would put it in without advance. Here's why: The '02+ LS6 cam has an intake closing point of 43 degrees ABDC at .050". This is the key reason it pulls so many rpm for having only 204 degrees of intake duration. When you advance it 4 degrees, you're not only dropping your power peak 200-300 rpm, you're also hindering the engine's ability to make power at all rpm. Remember a cam that's too small for a motor benefits from retarding...a cam that's too big benefits from advancing. 204 degrees of intake duration is too small, that's why GM chose to retard the LS6 cam to 120 degree intake centerline. It's the only way they could keep emissions low and power high.
