You just want to take the stock cats from a 2000 and put them onto a 2001?

I don't see why you couldn't. So long as they fit and still function properly you should be fine.

I do not think they fit since if I remember correctly, they changed the manifolds in 01/02 so the location and fit will be different.

00-02 cats are the same. Manifolds were changed in 00.

Are you sure?
I thought that happened mid 2000 onward along with LS6 pump and LS6 intake.
An easy way is the lift the car and compare.

00 manifolds are cast iron just like the 01-02s. Only difference is they have the EGR boss drilled and tapped on the pass side. 01-02s don't. And no mid year 00 got an LS6 intake. Don't know about the oil pump.

also some late MY00's got the 241 heads, and i believe some have comfirmed the ls6 pump. they definately did not get the intake however.
