When is it no longer an LS1?

So what is a F body that came with a LS6 block from the factory but a LS1 cam, LS1 heads etc.?
I would still say it was a LS1 with a LS6 block.
So the block method dosen't always work.
Now if you changed to a LS6 head, LS6 cam then it would be a LS6.
I say it is a LS1 forever, and the only way it isn't a LS1 is if you do a LS6 block, with 243 castings and whatever cam.
Or if you did a 6.0 iron or LS2 block with whatever parts.
This topic is why the name LSx came around.
For those who dont really have a LS1, or a LS6, or a 6.0 but a combo of them.

It's like calling all the car's f-body's but if you want to get more specifiec you have camaro , firebird, ws6, z28,ss.
In the end they are all Gen 3 motors.
